Free Online Courses to Bridge Political Divides

Braver Angels offers five free online courses that teach people how to talk across political differences with respect and understanding. Each course takes about 40 minutes to complete and can be done at your own pace. The courses include: Skills for Bridging the Divide, which helps you communicate better with people who have different political views (available in red and blue versions with different examples but same skills); Depolarizing Within, which helps you recognize your own biases and respond better when conversations get heated; Families & Politics, which provides strategies for handling political disagreements within families; Skills for Social Media, which teaches how to engage more constructively online; and Managing Difficult Conversations, designed especially for elected officials facing tough situations. These courses are created by experts in communication and reducing political tension. They provide a safe way to practice difficult conversations and can be taken alone or alongside Braver Angels workshops. The goal is to help people navigate political and personal divides with empathy, clarity, and courage instead of letting disagreements tear communities and families apart.
