2Deliberative Journalism ProjectThis project helps local communities have better conversations about important problems they face together. It brings together journalists, college teachers, and community groups to create news stories that help people talk through difficult topics instead of just arguing. The project teaches people how to discuss issues in a respectful way that leads to solutions. They work with local newspapers, radio stations, libraries, and other groups to make these conversations happen in Northern Colorado.
Youth Civic Action ProgramA program that teaches high school students how to create positive change in their communities. College students come to classrooms to help teens identify problems and work on real projects to fix them. Students learn leadership skills and how to make their voices heard. Past projects include training teachers about bias, improving school recycling, and creating programs about diversity and inclusion. The program works with local schools and community groups.
Most people want to be part of something. They just don't know where to start. That's not a motivation problem. It's a navigation problem.
