5 availableSafe Water Now - Clean Water Access ProgramEvidence Action provides safe drinking water to nearly 10 million people in Kenya, Malawi, and Uganda. They install chlorine dispensers at water sources and automatic chlorination devices in water systems. The chlorine kills harmful germs that cause diseases like cholera and diarrhea. Communities get this service for free. Local volunteers help maintain the dispensers and teach people how to use them. This program has prevented over 15,000 deaths in children under five and costs less than $1.70 per person each year.Syphilis-Free Start ProgramThis program helps governments test pregnant women for syphilis and HIV at the same time during regular check-ups. When women test positive for syphilis, they get treatment with a simple shot that costs less than 50 cents. This prevents babies from being born sick or dying. The program works with governments in Africa to train health workers and make sure clinics have the right tests and medicine. So far, they've helped over 320,000 pregnant women get tested and saved more than 1,300 newborn lives.Deworm the World - Free Treatment for ChildrenThis program gives free medicine to children to treat parasitic worms that make kids sick. They treat children in Africa and Asia through their schools, so families don't have to find the medicine themselves. The treatment is safe and helps children stay healthy so they can learn better and have better lives.Equal Vitamin Access - Iron and Folic Acid ProgramsThis program helps fight anemia in children by providing iron and folic acid vitamins through schools. Anemia makes kids tired and hurts their learning because their blood can't carry enough oxygen. The program works with governments to give children weekly vitamins at school for free. It reaches 27 million children and costs only 50 cents per child per year. Teachers are trained to give out the vitamins safely. The program works in schools and community centers, helping children get healthier and learn better.Deworm the World ProgramThis program helps children in poor communities stay healthy and in school by treating worm infections. Children get safe medicine pills once or twice a year for free through their schools or health workers. The program works with governments in India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, and Malawi to give treatments to millions of children. When kids don't have worms, they can absorb food better, feel stronger, and attend school more often. Research shows treated children miss 25% less school and earn more money as adults. The program costs less than 50 cents per treatment and has helped 198 million children in 2024.
