Evidence Action provides safe drinking water to nearly 10 million people in Kenya, Malawi, and Uganda. They install chlorine dispensers at water sources and automatic chlorination devices in water systems. The chlorine kills harmful germs that cause diseases like cholera and diarrhea. Communities get this service for free. Local volunteers help maintain the dispensers and teach people how to use them. This program has prevented over 15,000 deaths in children under five and costs less than $1.70 per person each year.
